About
We know that brownfield redevelopment is not just about remediation — remediation is the first step in bringing old spaces back to life, and turning them into new great places that add to the social vibrancy, the economic development, and the urban fabric of the places they are located.
This is why this event continues to exist — to bring together all the people who play a part in making this happen, from the governments that set the policies and incentives, to the technolgy and environmental companies that do the dirty work, to the lawyers, insurers, and financers who make it feasible, to the developers, architects, and engineers who create and build the great places of tomorrow.
Making Great Places returns this year to a new downtown location, the Allstream Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto, with a new streamlined program, bigger trade show, and the annual CUI Brownie Awards gala dinner. Plus, we are bringing back in-depth partner workshops, and have some great tours in the works.
We’ll be posting updates as available, so keep checking back for new developments — here is what you need to know now:
Program
The program will once again feature the most up-to-date information on the regulations, trends, and best practices that are driving brownfield re-development across the country.
Keynote speaker Joe Berridge is confirmed for Tuesday, Oct. 4. Hear about how his firm Urban Strategies is working with Exhibition Place to design the new Festival Plaza, adjacent to the conference site.
